Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Anjaneya, located in the Kondagattu hills of Mallial Mandal, Jagtial district, Telangana, India. It is one of the most famous temples in Telangana and is visited by thousands of devotees every year.

History of Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple

The temple is believed to be over 300 years old and was built by a cowherd named Singam Sanjeevudu. According to the legend, Sanjeevudu was searching for one of his buffaloes when he came across a cave in the hills. Inside the cave, he found a self-manifested (swayambhu) idol of Lord Anjaneya. Sanjeevudu built a small temple around the idol and started worshipping it. The temple soon became popular and people from all over the region started visiting it.

Present day temple and its Architecture

The present-day temple was built in the 19th century by Krishna Rao Deshmukh. The temple is built in Dravidian style of architecture and has a spacious courtyard. The main deity of the temple is a 10-foot-tall idol of Lord Anjaneya. The idol is facing north and is flanked by the idols of Narasimha and Hanuman. There are also idols of Lord Venkateswara, Lakshmi, and Saraswati in the temple.
